RDA demolishes illegal under-construction building in Chak Jalal Din
RAWALPINDI, Oct 14 (APP): The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Wednesday demolished an unauthorised residential building under construction in Mouza Chak Jalal Din for violating building regulations.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the building was being constructed by Ashiq on a residential plot without prior approval or a No Objection Certificate (NOC), in violation of the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations.
The operation was carried out by the RDA Enforcement Squad under the supervision of Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Daud, with the participation of Building Superintendent Arslan Shaukat, Building Surveyors Amir Mehmood Malik and Asim Nawaz Khakhar, other RDA staff and police personnel from Dhamyal Police Station.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and RDA Director General Salman Ghani directed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate to ensure planned urban development and strict enforcement of the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations.
The RDA has advised property owners and developers to obtain the necessary approvals and comply with approved building plans before starting construction. Citizens have also been urged to verify the approval status of housing schemes and construction projects before investing and report illegal developments to the authority.
