HYDERABAD, Oct 13 (APP): Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam has earned international recognition as Professor Dr Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar has been conferred an honorary professorship by the University of Economics and Pedagogy in Karshi, Uzbekistan, in recognition of his contributions to agricultural education, sustainable rural development and climate-resilient agriculture.
According to the SAU spokesperson, the distinction was conferred during the International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Current Issues of Science and Technology”, held in Karshi. Prof Kumbhar received an honorary professorship certificate, an academic gown and commemorative insignia.
SAU Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal congratulated Prof Kumbhar, describing the distinction as an honor for Pakistan, Sindh and the university. He said the international achievements of SAU’s faculty and students enhanced the country’s academic standing and strengthened the institution’s global reputation.
Prof Kumbhar thanked the Uzbek University’s leadership and academic community, saying the honor was not merely a personal achievement but also a source of pride for Pakistan, Sindh and SAU.
He stressed the need for stronger academic and research cooperation between Pakistan, Uzbekistan and other countries particularly in climate-smart agriculture, food security, water management, agricultural extension and rural development. He said collaborative research, academic exchanges and capacity-building initiatives could help address emerging agricultural and environmental challenges.
The distinction is expected to open avenues for joint research, faculty and student exchanges and closer academic collaboration between SAU and Uzbek institutions.
Hailing from Pangrio in Badin district, Prof Kumbhar has devoted his academic career to agricultural education, extension services and rural development. His achievement is also an encouragement for young scholars from rural and farming communities.
