ISLAMABAD, Oct 18 (APP):Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid has paid tribute to the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy, saying their sacrifices would never be forgotten.
In her message on the occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid said the mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was to serve the people, empower women and promote the welfare of underprivileged segments of society.
She said BISP was committed to ensuring the economic empowerment and dignified lives of deserving women by providing them with support and opportunities for greater financial independence.
Senator Rubina Khalid said empowering women and supporting poor families in line with the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto remained a key priority.
She said the mission of the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy must be carried forward through democracy, peace and public service. The sacrifices of the martyrs, she added, served as a lasting source of inspiration, teaching the nation determination, courage and steadfastness in the pursuit of public service.
