Samar Bilour meets constituents at Lahori Gate, stresses civic improvements

Information department gives briefing to Samar Haroon Bilour
PESHAWAR, Oct 21 (APP):Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Information Samar Haroon Bilour held a public day at Lahori Gate on Wednesday, providing an opportunity for citizens to raise civic issues and seek solutions to problems affecting their daily lives.
A large number of residents met the adviser and drew her attention to various public welfare concerns. They also congratulated her and presented bouquets of flowers.
The discussions primarily focused on improving sanitation, strengthening the drainage system, ensuring timely waste collection and controlling environmental pollution in Peshawar. The adviser stressed the need for coordinated efforts by the relevant departments to improve municipal services and restore the city’s traditional beauty.
Bilour emphasised the importance of regular cleaning of streets, markets and drains, along with effective rainwater disposal to prevent problems caused by inadequate drainage. She also highlighted the need for plantation and the protection of green spaces to promote a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable urban environment.
Historically known as the “City of Flowers,” Peshawar possesses a rich cultural heritage and a distinctive architectural and historical identity. Preserving this legacy requires effective urban planning, improved civic facilities and close cooperation between government departments and local communities.
The public day enabled residents to communicate their concerns directly to the government and highlighted the importance of public engagement in identifying local problems and improving service delivery.
The initiative also underscored the government’s focus on public welfare, better municipal services and coordinated efforts to address civic challenges while preserving Peshawar’s historical character and cultural heritage.
