Syedaal reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to UN charter on United Nations Day
ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (APP):Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter, emphasizing the importance of multilateral cooperation, peaceful resolution of disputes, respect for sovereignty and collective efforts to address global challenges.
In his message on United Nations Day, observed annually on October 24, Syedaal Khan Nasar highlighted the vital role of the United Nations in promoting international peace and security, protecting human rights and advancing sustainable development.
He said that the United Nations remains an important platform for dialogue and cooperation among nations, particularly at a time when the world faces complex challenges, including armed conflicts, climate change, poverty and humanitarian crises.
The Acting Chairman Senate emphasized that Pakistan, as a founding member of the United Nations, has consistently supported the principles of peaceful coexistence, sovereign equality of states, multilateralism and the peaceful settlement of international disputes.
He stressed that meaningful international cooperation and adherence to the UN Charter are essential for building a peaceful, just and stable world. He also underscored the need to strengthen the role of the United Nations in addressing conflicts and ensuring that the voices of developing countries are heard in global decision-making.
Syedaal Khan Nasar called upon the international community to renew its commitment to the ideals of the United Nations and work collectively towards a future based on peace, dignity, equality and shared prosperity.
United Nations Day commemorates the entry into force of the UN Charter on October 24, 1945, marking the formal establishment of the United Nations and its enduring mission to promote peace, international cooperation and human progress.
