ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP):The federal government has imposed a six-month moratorium on the establishment of new nursing and midwifery institutions, official sources said.
The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) has formally notified federal and provincial governments of the temporary restriction.
According to sources, the decision aims to enable the council to clear a backlog of pending cases and streamline its regulatory processes.
During the moratorium, the PNMC will neither accept nor process new applications for the inspection of proposed nursing and midwifery institutions.
However, applications already submitted will continue to be processed, sources said.
They added that the council would consider new applications only after the six-month period expires and approval is obtained from the competent authority.
