NOWSHERA, Oct 25 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday said that putting the province on the path of development and eliminating terrorism were among the top priorities of the government.
He was talking to media persons after meeting Prime Minister’s Adviser on Interior Affairs Pervez Khattak at Manki Sharif in Nowshera, where they discussed the current political situation in the country, provincial political affairs and other matters of mutual interest.
The Governor said that the previous provincial government had ended all engagements with the federal government. “If you sit with someone, you should present your stance through arguments and convince them,” he added.
Faisal Karim Kundi said that the biggest-ever Apex Committee meeting in the history of Peshawar was held, which was attended by Field Marshal and Prime Minister along with their teams. He said the province’s case was presented before the leadership, following which the federal government announced a development package for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and resolved the wheat issue.
The Governor said that funds under the National Finance Commission (NFC) were due from the federal government, while the Rs160 billion development package was separate from it. He expressed the hope that NFC funds would be released soon.
He said the federal government had assured that funds would be issued whenever demanded, adding that there was no reason for stopping provincial funds or halting development activities.
The Governor said that all political leaders and advisers would be taken along to work for the development of the province and welfare of the people.
