KARACHI, Oct 26 (APP):Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on Kashmir Black Day, strongly condemned India’s illegal occupation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
He said that even after nearly eight decades, denying the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination remains a continuing question mark over the world’s conscience and its claims to justice.
The PPP Chairman said that IIOJK is not merely a piece of territory. It is about the freedom, identity and dignity of millions of people, and their fundamental right to decide their own future.
Black Day, he said, is a day to renew the pledge that support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom and self-determination will continue.
The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto always presented the Kashmir issue in light of Pakistan’s principled position and the cause of lasting peace.
In keeping with this historic commitment, the PPP will continue to extend political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people.
He urged the United Nations (UN) and the international community to go beyond mere statements and take effective steps to protect human rights and to achieve a just resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that on Kashmir Black Day, the people of Pakistan stand in unwavering solidarity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters. He added that the Kashmiris’ immortal sacrifices and their historic struggle for freedom will surely bear fruit, and that the sun of freedom will rise over Srinagar, kindling hope for lasting peace and stability in the region.
