India pursuing Israeli model by settling outsiders in IIOJK: Inqilabi
ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP):All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, has described October 27 as the darkest day in Kashmir’s history.
According to Kashmir Media Service, he said Kashmiris observed Black Day on October 27 to reaffirm their rejection of India’s forcible control over Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, Inqilabi said India landed its troops in Srinagar on October 27, 1947, against the wishes of the Kashmiri people. He said the occupation deprived Kashmiris of fundamental rights guaranteed under the United Nations Charter.
The Hurriyat leader urged Kashmiris living worldwide to stage protests outside Indian embassies, United Nations offices and historic landmarks. He said such demonstrations should highlight Indian state repression in IIOJK.
He stressed that Jammu and Kashmir remains a disputed territory. Its final settlement, he said, remains pending under relevant United Nations resolutions.
Inqilabi said that India was using different tactics to suppress the Kashmiri people’s struggle. He said the Modi regime is pursuing policies aimed at changing the territory’s Muslim-majority character.
He maintained that India was following an Israeli-style policy by settling outsiders in the occupied territory. He said these measures sought to turn the Muslim-majority region into a Hindu-majority area.
The Hurriyat leader expressed confidence that the sacrifices of Kashmiris would ultimately bear fruit. He said Kashmiris would continue their struggle until they achieved freedom from Indian rule.
He reiterated that Kashmiris would never accept India’s control over their homeland as legitimate.
