HEC attests 139,021 academic documents through paperless system

HEC cautions citizens against fraudsters using its name
ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP):The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has processed 73,146 degree attestation cases involving 139,021 academic documents through its paperless online system since its launch on May 11, 2026, enabling graduates to obtain digitally attested degrees without visiting HEC offices or submitting original documents.
According to official documents available with Wealth Pakistan, the system has streamlined the degree-attestation process by allowing applicants to complete the procedure online, reducing reliance on conventional paperwork and physical document handling.
Under the digital mechanism, the HEC issues electronic attestation certificates that applicants can download from their online dashboards.
The certificates can also be verified through the commission’s official verification portal, allowing relevant institutions and other stakeholders to check the authenticity of attested academic documents.
The system is designed to facilitate graduates seeking attested educational credentials for employment, higher education and other professional or administrative requirements, while reducing the time and logistical burden associated with traditional attestation procedures.
The processing of 139,021 academic documents since the system’s launch reflects the scale of its operations and the commission’s shift towards paperless service delivery.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to digitise public services, simplify administrative procedures and improve access to essential services through technology-driven solutions.
