BEIJING, Oct 28 (APP): China on Wednesday expressed deep concern over continued regional tensions following a claim by Yemen’s Houthi group that it had targeted Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry building, an airport and an oil refinery in the capital with ballistic missiles and drones.
Speaking at a daily briefing of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China opposed attacks against civilian airports and other civilian facilities.
“We are deeply concerned over the continued tensions in the region,” Guo said, calling on relevant parties to resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation.
China also urged the parties concerned to work toward restoring peace and tranquility to the Middle East at an early date.
Guo’s remarks underscore Beijing’s call for restraint and diplomatic efforts amid continuing regional tensions, with China emphasizing the protection of civilian facilities and the peaceful resolution of disputes.
