Women University Faisalabad organises 1st convention
FAISALABAD, Oct 29 (APP): Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organized the 1st convention under the “Developing Young Leaders Programme” (DYLP), a flagship initiative to celebrate the year-long achievements of 10 active student societies.
The two-day convention showcased student potential through a diverse range of educational, cultural, and community-focused initiatives.
The key features included a play festival, character-building dramas, a talent hunt, cultural performances, poetry, career counseling session, peace dialogue and panel discussion.
The university also hosted “Sehat Ki Dastak,” a two-day free health camp offering eye examinations and hepatitis screenings for students and staff.
Addressing the audience, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen emphasized the critical role of extracurricular engagement in personality development, self-confidence, and leadership.
She urged students to complement their academic qualifications with strong digital, communication, and conflict-management skills, while underscoring the importance of interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and responsible social media usage.
The convention concluded with an award distribution ceremony recognizing outstanding student contributions, followed by a musical evening to mark the successful completion of DYLP’s inaugural year.
