LAHORE, Oct 30 (APP): The Punjab Assembly (PA) marked ‘Breast cancer awareness month’ through a special awareness gathering organised under the leadership of the Women Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), reaffirming its commitment to promoting breast cancer awareness, early detection and timely screening among women.
The gathering was held here on Friday under the leadership of MPA and Women Parliamentary Caucus Convener Ishrat Ashraf.
As part of the initiative, a pink ribbon was displayed to symbolize hope, courage and solidarity with those affected by breast cancer.

Dr Omer Ayub, a qualified medical specialist, also delivered an awareness briefing on breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of recognizing potential warning signs, seeking timely medical advice and undergoing appropriate screening.
The session underscored that early detection can significantly improve treatment outcomes and save lives.
Participants were encouraged to wear pink as a gesture of support for breast cancer awareness and to help spread the message that timely diagnosis and access to healthcare are essential in the fight against the disease.
Through the initiative, the Punjab Assembly and the Women Parliamentary Caucus reiterated their commitment to raising public awareness, encouraging preventive healthcare practices and supporting efforts to reduce the impact of breast cancer on women, families and communities.
