Commissioner directs strict action against illegal housing schemes, early completion of RDA projects
RAWALPINDI, Oct 31 (APP): Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Salman Ghani, has directed RDA officers to accelerate ongoing development projects and ensure their timely completion in accordance with approved plans, prescribed standards and relevant regulations.
He emphasized that all development projects should be closely monitored to ensure quality, transparency and timely execution. The concerned officers were directed to remove any obstacles affecting the progress of development works and ensure the effective utilization of available resources.
He further instructed to maintain close coordination and regularly review the progress of ongoing schemes to achieve the desired results within the stipulated time frame.
The Commissioner also directed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate RDA to take strict legal action against illegal and unapproved housing schemes and unauthorized constructions in accordance with the law.
He instructed the officers concerned to continue enforcement operations, ensure effective monitoring and take action against those involved in promoting illegal housing schemes. He stressed that no individual or organization should be allowed to violate planning regulations or mislead citizens through misleading advertisements and unlawful property transactions.
The general public has been advised to verify the legal status and approval of any housing scheme from the RDA before purchasing plots or making any investment. Citizens are urged not to invest their hard-earned money in unapproved or illegal housing schemes and to obtain relevant information directly from the RDA’s concerned offices.
They are also encouraged to report any suspicious promotional activities or violations relating to illegal housing schemes to the Authority for appropriate legal action.
RDA was committed to protecting citizens’ rights, promoting planned urban development and ensuring the provision of better civic facilities through effective monitoring and enforcement of regulations. The Authority will continue its efforts to improve urban planning, strengthen regulatory mechanisms and facilitate sustainable development across Rawalpindi.
Commissioner Salman Ghani reiterated that strict action would continue against violations of rules and regulations, while development activities would be expedited in the larger public interest. He directed all concerned officers to perform their duties with dedication, ensure accountability and maintain a result-oriented approach to achieve the Authority’s development and regulatory objectives.
