Ambassador Gillani attends Student Council Investiture Ceremony at Pakistan Embassy College, Beijing
BEIJING, Oct 15 (APP): Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Dr. Syed Ali Asad Gillani, attended the Student Council Investiture Ceremony for the 2026–27 academic session at Pakistan Embassy College, Beijing (PECB), as Chief Guest.
The ceremony recognized outstanding academic achievements in the Cambridge International Education (CIE) examinations. Hareem Naeem secured Top in the World in English as a Second Language at the IGCSE level, while Mahnoor Bilal received a High Achievement distinction in Urdu as a Second Language, Zayna Ahmad in Islamiyat, and Rania Malik in Pakistan Studies.
The Ambassador commended the students and their teachers – Mr. Anwar Khan (English), Mr. Rao Obaid ur Rehman (Urdu), Mr. Noor Mustafa (Islamiyat), and Ms. Nayyab Arshad (Pakistan Studies) – for their dedication and hard work. These accomplishments reflect not only the commitment of these students to excellence, but also the dedication of their teachers and PECB’s efforts to maintain high standards of quality education.
Sashes were presented to the newly appointed student leaders, including club presidents and vice presidents, sports captains, and the Head Boy and Head Girl. The newly elected Student Council members subsequently took their oath of office, pledging to discharge their responsibilities with integrity and dedication. The Head Boy and Head Girl also addressed the gathering with their inspiring speeches.
In his remarks, Ambassador Gillani encouraged students to overcome their fears, remain focused on their goals, and seek guidance from their parents and teachers to realise their potential and become the best versions of themselves. He emphasised that leadership is a trust that must be upheld with integrity, fairness and a spirit of service.
The Ambassador also highlighted the college’s contribution to Pakistan-China relations and its role in promoting academic excellence, cultural exchange and greater understanding of Pakistan’s heritage and traditions among Chinese and international communities.
Ambassador Gillani presented shields to the high-achieving students in recognition of their academic accomplishments and congratulated the newly inducted Student Council, extending his best wishes to all students for their continued success.
