District administration takes action against 15 illegal housing societies in DIKhan
Dera Ismail Khan , Oct 04 (APP):The district administration has intensified its crackdown on unapproved housing schemes operating without a No Objection Certificate (NOC), taking legal action against 15 housing societies in Dera Ismail Khan.
The operation was carried out on the directives of the provincial government and Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan to curb illegal housing developments and protect citizens from fraudulent property investments.
Assistant Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Dr. Muhammad Hamid Siddiq, accompanied by the Tehsil Municipal Officer, officials of the Land Use and Building Control Authority (LUBCA), revenue field staff and representatives of relevant departments, led the operation in different areas of the tehsil.
The crackdown targeted unapproved housing societies along Bhakkar Road, Darya Band Road and in New Baloch Nagar.
The housing societies against which legal action was initiated included Ali Garden Phase III, Gulshan-e-Umar, Gulshan-e-Faiz, Nawaz Garden, Hayat Garden, Al-Falah Garden, Shah Zain Society, Nayab City, Bakhtawar Garden, Saeed Garden, Bargad Garden, Al-Saif Garden, Khalid Block, Sahar-ul-Hameed and Cantt View Housing Society.
During the operation, boundary walls, main gates, offices and other unauthorised structures of the housing schemes were demolished. Access roads leading to certain schemes were also removed as part of the enforcement action.
According to the district administration, the operation aims to safeguard citizens against financial losses arising from investments in illegal housing schemes and to prevent unauthorised sale and purchase of plots.
The administration urged the public to verify the legal status, approval and NOC of any housing scheme with the relevant authorities before purchasing plots or making investments.
It further clarified that the sale and purchase of plots, property transfers and other transactions in the identified illegal housing schemes were prohibited, warning that violations would invite strict legal action.
Assistant Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Hamid Siddiq said enforcement operations against illegal and unapproved housing societies would continue without interruption to protect public interests and ensure the rule of law.
