PESHAWAR, Oct 02 (APP):Around 50 women in Upper Chitral have successfully completed professional training in stitching, tailoring and fashion design under the Digital Skills Training Initiative of the Hujra Village Support Organization (HUJRA VSO).
The “Ba-Ikhtiyar Women Project”, launched under the initiative, aims to equip women with vocational, digital and entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to establish small businesses, generate income and contribute to their families’ financial well-being.
A certificate distribution ceremony was held at the Government Technical and Vocational Centre for Women (GTVC-W) in Booni, Upper Chitral, with District Finance Officer, Ms Farhana Hayat, attending as the chief guest.
To strengthen their entrepreneurial and market-oriented capacities, participants also received specialized training in digital marketing and e-commerce for entrepreneurs, along with technology awareness sessions and practical learning activities.
The training was delivered in two batches, with all 50 enrolled participants successfully completing the programme.
Upon completion, each participant received a certificate and a mobile phone to support continued access to digital tools and opportunities to promote their skills, products and services.
HUJRA VSO acknowledged the support of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) for providing financial assistance, and the Institute of Rural Management (IRM) for its technical support and partnership throughout the initiative.
The organization also appreciated the contributions of Farhana Hayat, GTVC-W management, trainers, participants, project partners and other stakeholders in successfully implementing the training programme.
