ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP):Clear front-of-package warning labels can help consumers identify packaged foods high in nutrients of concern and make informed dietary choices, health advocates said.
According to the Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH), placing simple and visible warning labels on food packaging can make nutritional information easier to understand than complex nutrition panels.
Evidence suggests that front-of-package warning labels improve consumers’ understanding of nutritional risks and can influence them to choose healthier food products.
Health advocates stressed that consumers have the right to clear and accessible information about the nutritional content of packaged foods to support informed decisions and healthier lifestyles.
The initiative calls for greater attention to transparent food labelling to help people identify products high in nutrients of concern and make healthier choices
