ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (APP):Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Bilal Azhar Kiyani, on Monday criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government for allegedly refusing to cooperate with the federal government and law enforcement agencies on counter terrorism in KP during the recent round of dialogues, stressing that all stakeholders should be on the same page to effectively address the threat of terrorism.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Kiyani highlighted that civilian institution responsible for maintaining law and order and protecting the public in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had not been adequately strengthened or upgraded during the PTI-led provincial government’s tenure.
“PTI provincial government was failed to equip its security forces with basic requirements, including bulletproof jackets, vehicles, check posts and other essential equipment,” he said.
He emphasized that effective coordination between the federal and provincial governments, along with improved institutional capacity, was essential to ensuring public safety and countering terrorist activities.
