DG NCCIA hears nationwide cybercrime complaints, orders zero tolerance for online harassment of women
ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP):Director General National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi here held an online open court (E-Kachehri), personally heard complaints from citizens across the country through video link and directed officers to take immediate action, particularly in cases involving online harassment of women.
An NCCIA official told on Thursday that citizens from different parts of the country participated in the online session and raised complaints related to financial fraud, social media harassment and other cybercrimes.
DG Rizvi listened to the complainants, reviewed their concerns and issued clear directions to the concerned officers for the prompt resolution of their complaints.
He assured citizens that their complaints would be handled according to the nature of each case and that efforts would be made to provide relief as quickly as possible.
The DG particularly stressed the need to protect women from online harassment and directed officers to strictly implement a zero-tolerance policy against such offences.
He ordered action against suspects involved in online harassment of women without discrimination and directed investigation teams to deal with such complaints on priority.
The official said the online E-Kachehri provided citizens with an opportunity to directly approach the agency’s top management without visiting its offices.
Speaking on the occasion, Rizvi said that the initiative was aimed at ensuring direct hearing of public complaints, timely relief and greater transparency in the agency’s working.
