ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad has strengthened dengue surveillance across the federal capital, with field teams inspecting water storage sites, eliminating mosquito larvae and monitoring compliance with dengue prevention standard operating procedures (SOPs).
According to official sources, the teams are conducting field visits to identify potential mosquito breeding sites and taking preventive measures to minimize the risk of dengue transmission.
The surveillance activities also include responding to public complaints and ensuring that preventive measures are implemented at relevant locations.
They added, the DHO is monitoring compliance with dengue prevention guidelines to reduce breeding opportunities and strengthen disease control efforts.
September to November are considered peak months for dengue transmission, making surveillance, source reduction and public awareness particularly important during this period.
Residents have been urged to keep their surroundings clean, remove stagnant water from containers and rooftops, and adopt preventive measures to protect themselves and their families from dengue.
