Heavy rain in Islamabad: ITP warns of slow traffic, urges motorists to drive carefully

ITP Issues traffic advisory for cricket teams’ Movement
ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory amid heavy rainfall in the federal capital, warning motorists of possible traffic delays due to water accumulation on different roads.
An ITP official told APP on Wednesday that heavy rain was continuing in Islamabad and standing water on several roads could slow down traffic movement.
He advised motorists and motorcyclists to reduce their speed during rainfall and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead to avoid accidents.
The official urged drivers to use fog lights where necessary, remain in their designated lanes and avoid sudden lane changes.
He said motorists should properly use side mirrors and indicators while driving and ensure that seat belts were fastened.
Motorcyclists were advised to use the extreme left lane, wear safety helmets and exercise extra caution on wet and slippery roads.
The official said ITP personnel were deployed on different roads to facilitate motorists, manage traffic and provide necessary guidance during the rain.
He advised citizens to stay updated on traffic conditions through the official ITP WhatsApp channel, Islamabad Police social media pages and ITP FM 92.4 before starting their journeys.
