LAHORE, Oct 26 (APP):The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday upheld the death sentence of Khalid Masih
and the life imprisonment awarded to Khurram Masih in a murder case of a citizen during a robbery, dismissing their appeals against their convictions.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry and Justice
Sardar Akbar Ali Dogar announced the verdict after arguments from both sides.
The prosecution submitted that the convicts murdered Muhammad Irfan during
a robbery in 2018. It further submitted that the trial court sentences in light of
the statements of injured eyewitnesses who had testified during the trial. It pleaded
to reject the appeals filed by the convicts.
The defence counsel pleaded for the acquittal of the convicts but failed to satisfy
the court with the arguments.
A murder case was registered against the accused at Bhikki Police Station
in Sheikhupura district on September 3, 2018.
