ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP):Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio Eradication Ayesha Raza Farooq and National Coordinator Muhammad Anwaar ul Haq met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr Muhammad Fakhr-e-Alam Irfan to review challenges and strategies for polio eradication in the province.
Additional Chief Secretary KP Yahya Akhundzada also attended the meeting, along with EOC Coordinator Dr Sara Rehman and members of the Pakistan Polio Eradication Initiative’s core team.
The participants discussed recent polio cases in the province, particularly in the southern districts, and reviewed measures to strengthen eradication activities.
The meeting emphasized the need to improve social mobilization, promote public cooperation and strengthen community engagement to address persistent challenges in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The participants stressed that coordinated efforts among government departments, health authorities and local communities were essential to accelerate polio eradication across the province.
