NEOC reviews preparations for November polio campaign
ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (APP): National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) Coordinator Muhammad Anwar ul Haq on Wednesday chaired a review meeting to assess preparations for the November Sub-National Immunization Campaign. The focus was on coordinated efforts to ensure that every eligible child receives polio vaccination.
The meeting was attended by the National Polio Core Team, provincial coordinators and their respective teams to review campaign readiness and discuss measures to strengthen implementation.
Mohammed Sadik Teyeb, Operations Team Leader, and Muhammad Ali Yazdani, representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Pakistan, also attended the meeting as part of the bank’s Project Completion Report (PCR) mission to Pakistan.
The participants discussed operational preparedness and the importance of effective coordination among national and provincial teams to ensure the successful implementation of the upcoming immunisation campaign.
The meeting underscored the need for collective efforts to reach all eligible children, particularly those in high-risk areas, and ensure that no child is missed during the vaccination drive.
The initiative forms part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to interrupt poliovirus transmission and protect children against the crippling disease through sustained immunisation campaigns and coordinated public health interventions.
