Rawal dam Chowk-Kashmir Chowk road closed until further orders, ITP issues diversion plan

ITP Issues traffic advisory for cricket teams’ Movement
ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP): Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Thursday announced the complete closure of the road between Rawal Dam Chowk and Kashmir Chowk from October 15 until further orders, advising motorists to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
An ITP official told APP that a detailed traffic diversion plan had been issued to facilitate citizens travelling between Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree and Bhara Kahu.
He said motorists travelling from G-5, the Secretariat and Serena Hotel towards Rawalpindi should use Srinagar Highway and Ninth Avenue.
Alternatively, they could travel through Srinagar Highway towards Mehrabad and Peshawar Road or take a U-turn at Lake View to use Murree Road or Club Road.
The official said citizens travelling towards Rawal Dam Chowk, Park Road and Lehtrar Road should use Srinagar Highway, Seventh Avenue, Shakarparian Road, Tulip Hotel Road and Rawal Dam Road.
Motorists heading towards Murree and Bhara Kahu via Faizabad were advised to use Faisal Avenue, Zero Point, the Srinagar Highway underpass, Jinnah Square and Kondriyan Wala Chowk to reach their destinations.
Similarly, citizens travelling from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad should use Ninth Avenue, Faqir Aipee Road and Srinagar Highway.
Those travelling from Park Road and Lehtrar Road towards Islamabad were advised to use Tulip Hotel Road, Garden Avenue, Shakarparian Road and Seventh Avenue.
The official warned that traffic flow could be affected on major roads due to the diversions and advised citizens to allow an additional 20 to 25 minutes for their journeys.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Kainat said ITP officers would remain deployed at different locations to guide motorists and ensure smooth traffic movement.
The CTO Kainat advised citizens to follow traffic instructions and use the recommended alternative routes to avoid delays.
