SARGODHA, Oct 06 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Tuesday conducted surprise visits to various rural and urban areas to review sanitation activities under the Suthra Punjab programme.
During a visit to Chak No. 89 NB, the sanitation situation was found unsatisfactory, while Suthra Punjab field staff were also absent. The Deputy Commissioner expressed displeasure and directed the concerned authorities to immediately improve sanitation arrangements and ensure the presence of field staff.
The DC also inspected cleanliness arrangements, door-to-door waste collection, and sanitation conditions along roads in Istiqlalabad and adjoining areas. He directed the officers concerned to ensure uninterrupted sanitation operations and timely removal of waste to provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment.
He ordered the immediate removal of garbage heaps, soil, rubble, construction debris, and other unnecessary material from along the roads. He also directed the authorities to take effective action against encroachments to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services/Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Services Muhammad Akmal, relevant district and tehsil managers, and field staff were present during the visits.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officers to closely monitor sanitation operations in the field and regularly check staff attendance and performance. He made it clear that negligence or slackness in sanitation matters would not be tolerated.
