Punjab Government to shift 256 Higher Secondary Schools to solar power
LAHORE, Oct 22 (APP):The Punjab government has decided to transition 256 higher secondary schools across the province to solar energy, aiming to cut down utility expenses and ensure an uninterrupted power supply.
According to a spokesperson, the initiative includes 15 higher secondary schools in Lahore. The schools slated for conversion in a phased manner comprise Government Higher Secondary Schools in Awan Town, Barki, Chohang, Jallo Morr, Singhpura, Shahdara, Samanabad, Kot Lakhpat, Gulberg, Manga, Morigate, and Garhi Shahu.
Officials noted that shifting these educational institutions to solar power will save millions of rupees in monthly utility bills, besides providing a more stable electricity supply for academic activities.
