FIA recovers Rs 450,000 from agents in Saudi Arabia job fraud case

FIA recovers Rs 450,000 from agents in Saudi Arabia job fraud case
ISLAMABAD, Oct 08 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad has recovered Rs450,000 from three agents who allegedly cheated a citizen on the promise of a job in Saudi Arabia and returned the full amount to the complainant.
An FIA official told APP on Thursday that the action was taken under inquiry No. RE-546/26 following a complaint filed by a citizen, Binyamin, against three agents associated with overseas employment promoter Hafza and Company.
The official said the agents had promised to arrange a job in Saudi Arabia for the complainant’s son, Umar Binyamin, and received Rs450,000 for the purpose.
However, when Umar Binyamin reached Saudi Arabia, he found that neither a job contract nor the promised company was available. He was forced to return to Pakistan without employment, while his family also had to bear additional travel and other expenses.
Following the complaint, the FIA conducted an inquiry and issued notices to all three agents.
The official said the agents were directed to return the money through a mutual settlement. As a result, the full amount of Rs450,000 was recovered and handed over to the complainant.
Binyamin thanked the Director FIA Islamabad Zone, Deputy Director and Investigation Officer Inspector Danish Masood for their timely action and efforts in recovering his money.
The official said FIA Islamabad Zone would continue taking action against agents involved in cheating citizens on the promise of overseas employment.
He added that protecting citizens from job fraud and ensuring justice for affected people remained among the agency’s top priorities.
