Industrial zone, diversified markets along Ring Road corridor remain priority; says DC
RAWALPINDI, Oct 09 (APP):District Administration Rawalpindi has prioritized establishing dedicated industrial zones alongside relocated wholesale vegetable, grain and livestock markets along the Rawalpindi Ring Road corridor to boost commercial investment and streamline urban trade, Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir said on Friday.
Speaking during an administrative consultative meeting with a delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) led by President Noshairwan Khalil Khan, the deputy commissioner highlighted plans to set up an institutional Facilitation Center at the RCCI premises.
Joined by Additional Deputy Commissioners Tayyab Sami Khan, Fazail Mudassar and Abdul Rehman Khan, the deputy commissioner confirmed that engineering progress is underway to upgrade feeder networks connecting to the Ring Road, ensuring organized logistics, reduced urban congestion and improved transit for regional commerce, said a press release.
Appraising the administration’s trade-friendly policies, the RCCI executive body lauded the district authority’s policy mandating a maximum three-day deadline for processing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) via facilitation desks and enforcing a strict prohibition on sealing commercial establishments without prior formal authorization.
Discussions also focused on resolving infrastructure bottlenecks within the Rawat Industrial Estate, to which DC assured the business community of direct administrative access and prioritized dispute resolution to foster a favorable investment climate across the division.
