PCP orders three institutions to halt Pharm.D admissions
ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP):The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) has directed three educational institutions to withdraw unauthorised advertisements for their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) programmes and suspend admission-related activities until obtaining the required No Objection Certificate (NOC).
According to official sources, these institutions include KIPS College, University Campus, Gujranwala, Superior University, Sargodha Campus, and Riphah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Riphah International University, Gujranwala.
The council took notice of advertisements and proposed admissions to the Pharm.D programme by these institutions without the requisite NOC.
The institutions have been directed to immediately withdraw unauthorized or misleading advertisements and cease admission activities until the necessary approval is obtained.
The council also instructed them to ensure that no advertisement, prospectus, promotional material or public announcement creates a misleading impression about the approval or recognition status of their programmes.
The PCP emphasized that institutions must fulfil all applicable regulatory requirements before advertising or initiating admissions to professional pharmacy degree programmes.
It advised prospective students and their parents to verify the approval and NOC status of institutions and their respective programmes with the council before seeking admission.
The council reiterated its commitment to maintaining the quality of pharmacy education, protecting students’ interests and enforcing regulatory requirements in the public interest.
