ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP):Director General Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) Dr. Musa Khan chaired a virtual meeting with representatives of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and the Gates Foundation to discuss strategic priorities for strengthening Pakistan’s Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI).
The meeting was attended by Ms. Carrie Gheen, Senior Country Manager at Gavi, Dr. Nahad Sadr-Azodi, Senior Programme Officer (EPI) at the Gates Foundation, and Dr. Majid Saleem, representing the FDI technical team.
The participants discussed opportunities to strengthen collaboration, enhance institutional capacities and support the effective implementation of Pakistan’s national immunization programme.
Dr. Musa Khan highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships and coordinated efforts with international development partners to advance immunization priorities and improve vaccination coverage across the country.
The meeting provided a platform for exchanging views on technical cooperation and aligning partner support with national objectives under the EPI.
The participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s immunization system, improving access to vaccines and protecting children against vaccine-preventable diseases.
