PHF distributes hockey equipment among schools in Abbottabad
ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP): In order to revive the glorious past of the national game hockey on the soil of Pakistan and to instill the love of the game in the hearts of the young generation, a historic ceremony was organized here on Friday to distribute hockey equipment (hockey kits) students of schools in Nowshera.
The ceremony, organized under the auspices of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), was graced by Zaka Ullah Khattak, Senior Joint Secretary of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, distinguished senior officers of the School Education Department, teachers (PETs) of all concerned schools and a large number of students, who enhanced the splendor of the event with their presence, said a press release.
On this occasion, modern hockey kits and all necessary sports equipment were handed over to the prominent representatives of the registered schools of Nowshera. The basic objective of this noble initiative is to attract school children towards playgrounds and to provide them with standard sports gear.
The PHF has reaffirmed its firm commitment to promote the national game at the grassroots level, strengthen the roots of the sport through educational institutions, and to bring to the forefront and train novice players with hidden potential, so that the golden era of hockey that once hoisted Pakistan’s flag high across the world may return to the country.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, organized in collaboration with the School Education Department, representatives and students of all registered schools expressed their delight upon receiving the hockey kits and highly appreciated this initiative of the Federation.
