HSA researcher stresses translating mental health research into practice
ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (APP):A Health Services Academy (HSA) researcher has stressed the need to bridge the gap between mental health research and practical implementation to improve services and ensure evidence-based interventions deliver meaningful benefits to communities.
Dr Huma Nazir, Research Fellow at the Department of Public Mental Health, HSA, and Director of Mental Health at the Human Services Foundation (HSF), delivered a session titled “Lived Experiences, Translating Intervention Research to Reality” at the Institute of Psychiatry (IoP), Rawalpindi Medical University, in connection with World Mental Health Day 2026.
She highlighted the importance of translating scientific findings into practical interventions that respond to people’s needs and improve their mental well-being.
The session underscored the value of lived experiences, community engagement and research-informed approaches in strengthening mental health services and developing more inclusive, person-centred systems of care.
It also emphasized closer collaboration among researchers, healthcare professionals and communities to ensure that mental health interventions address real-life challenges and deliver effective outcomes.
The Health Services Academy reaffirmed its commitment to advancing public mental health through research, collaboration and evidence-based practices, highlighting the importance of turning research findings into meaningful action to improve mental health and well-being.
