IHC disposes of police employees’ plea against eviction from Aabpara flats

IHC seeks response regarding whereabouts of over 50 Pakistanis after irregular travel to Spain
ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday disposed of a petition filed by police personnel against their eviction from Aabpara flats after allowing them to withdraw their plea.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the petition, in which the court had earlier issued a stay order against the eviction of the applicants from the government-allotted flats.
CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf appeared before the court in response to its notice issued over the eviction proceedings allegedly carried out despite the stay order.
During the hearing, the police personnel sought permission to withdraw their petition. Justice Azam Khan asked them whether they were facing any pressure to withdraw the case.
The petitioners’ counsel denied any pressure and reiterated that they wished to withdraw the plea.
The court accepted their request and disposed of the petition.
