IHC issues written verdict banning sheesha cafes; ICT admin to intensify crackdown
ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued its written decision on the ban on sheesha cafes, prompting the Islamabad district administration to further intensify its ongoing crackdown across the federal capital.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed all assistant commissioners to speed up enforcement and ensure full compliance with the court’s orders.
The district administration said that operations against sheesha cafes were being conducted daily in different parts of Islamabad. A large number of cafes have been sealed and their equipment seized under the court’s directions.
The administration said that the crackdown would be further intensified following the issuance of the written verdict. Enforcement teams are carrying out operations across all areas without discrimination, including E-11 and Bahria Civic Centre.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has instructed all assistant commissioners to ensure that the court’s orders are implemented in letter and spirit. The directions require the officials to continue action against sheesha cafes and ensure compliance with the judicial decision.
The DC has also ordered the registration of cases against sheesha cafe owners who fail to cooperate with the administration during enforcement operations.
The district administration said that the measures were part of its ongoing efforts to implement the court’s orders. It reiterated that operations would continue on a daily basis and that all relevant areas would remain covered by the enforcement drive.
All assistant commissioners have been directed to ensure that the judicial orders are followed without exception. The administration said the issuance of the written verdict would lead to further action against sheesha cafes across the federal capital.
The crackdown is continuing in E-11, Bahria Civic Centre and other parts of Islamabad, with enforcement teams sealing cafes and confiscating equipment in accordance with the court’s directions.
The district administration has directed all assistant commissioners to maintain enforcement efforts and take action against owners who do not cooperate with the authorities.
