LAHORE, Oct 21 (APP):The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), under the Chief Minister’s Initiative, Makerspace Punjab, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, the University of Education, Lahore, and the University of the Punjab, Lahore, to strengthen academia-industry collaboration, promote research and IT hardware innovation, and encourage technology-driven product development.
The MoUs were signed by PITB Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif and the respective university heads, including COMSATS Lahore Campus Director Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, University of Education Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry, and University of the Punjab Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali. In this regard, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated, “Makerspace Punjab is an initiative of the Government of Punjab being implemented by PITB to strengthen the province’s IT hardware innovation ecosystem through product design, rapid prototyping, and the local development of technology products.”
He further said, “These partnerships mark another step towards fostering a culture of innovation, supporting young talent, and advancing indigenous technology development in Punjab.”
