Romania–Pakistan business forum brings together leaders to expand trade links
ISLAMABAD, Oct 07 (APP): Business leaders, diplomats, government officials and academics from Pakistan and Romania gathered in Bucharest at the Romania–Pakistan Business Forum to explore new trade, investment and business opportunities between the two countries.
The forum was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) and was part of a Pakistani business mission arranged through cooperation between the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad, the Pakistan–Romania Business Council (PRBC) and Romanian institutional partners, said a release issued here.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Atif Farooqi, Head of Delegation and Honorary Consul-Designate of Romania in Sindh. Sohail Shamim Firpo, Chairman of the Pakistan–Romania Business Council, served as Deputy Head of Delegation, while Dr. Kaiser Rafiq, Chairman of Discover Pakistan TV and proposed Honorary Consul of Romania in Punjab, participated as Special Representative of the PRBC Trade Delegation.
In a video message, Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr Dan Stoenescu, called on participants to transform strong diplomatic ties into economic gains. He said the success of the mission should be measured through business contracts, investments, joint ventures and higher exports.
Speaking on behalf of the PRBC and the delegation, Atif Farooqi highlighted opportunities in trade, technology, agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, education and tourism. He urged participants to use business-to-business meetings to identify trusted partners and agree on practical next steps for cooperation.
Farooqi thanked Dr Dan Stoenescu and the Romanian Embassy team for initiating the mission. He also acknowledged Ovidiu Ioan Silaghi, Secretary General of CCIR, for hosting the event, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Prahova for its support, and Ambassador of Pakistan to Romania Ilyas Mehmood Nizami along with the Embassy of Pakistan in Bucharest for their continued cooperation.
The forum focused on converting positive bilateral relations into long-term commercial partnerships, investments and business opportunities between Pakistan and Romania.
