ATC grants 8-Day physical remand of two PTI workers in Nov 26 protest case
LAHORE, Oct 29 (APP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan by 14 days in a case involving alleged provocative speeches and arson at Sherpao Bridge on May 9.
ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill heard the case as Dewan was produced before the court from jail upon expiry of his previous judicial remand.
The investigating officer informed the court that the supplementary challan was being prepared and would be submitted shortly.
The court sent the PTI leader back to jail and directed the police to submit a supplementary challan in the case. It also ordered that the accused be produced before the court again on November 12.
According to the police, Dewan was present at the scene of the incident and was allegedly involved in delivering speeches and engaging in arson along with other PTI leaders. His arrest was formally recorded in FIR No. 97/23 registered at Sarwar Road police station in connection with the case.
