No unscheduled load shedding being carried out: Spokesperson

IESCO notifies power suspension programme
ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) is ensuring continuity of power supply to consumers across its region, with no unscheduled load management being carried out, the company’s spokesperson said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the spokesperson said IESCO management was following the directives of the government and the Ministry of Energy’s Power Division to maintain an uninterrupted power supply to consumers.
He said scheduled power shutdowns were, however, being carried out for limited periods on relevant feeders to facilitate the annual system maintenance programme and development works, including the construction of bridges, underpasses, overhead structures and roads.
The spokesperson said consumers were informed in advance about planned shutdowns through print and electronic media, social media and announcements from mosques. The advance shutdown schedule was also available on the company’s website, [www.iesco.com.pk](http://www.iesco.com.pk).
He said short-duration load management could be introduced during evening hours if a gap emerged between electricity demand and supply. Such measures were withdrawn once power availability matched demand.
The spokesperson said senior management was closely monitoring continuity of power supply and the timely resolution of consumer complaints.
He added that IESCO complaint offices and helpline 118 remained operational round the clock to register and address complaints.
