PESHAWAR, Oct 29 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to develop a unified digital portal to register human rights complaints, refer them to relevant departments and monitor progress on their resolution.
Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information Samar Haroon Bilour said the initiative aimed to improve coordination among government institutions, reduce delays in addressing complaints and ensure effective information sharing.
She said the government would not establish a new parallel institution under the initiative but would connect existing departments and organisations through a common digital system.
Samar said a joint meeting of institutions working on human rights issues had discussed the need for an integrated digital mechanism to improve coordination and information exchange.
The proposed portal will provide a system for registering complaints, forwarding them to the relevant authorities and tracking progress on action taken. It is also expected to reduce unnecessary delays and duplication of efforts among different institutions.
The portal will bring together the Social Welfare Department, police, ombudsman offices and other human rights-related institutions. Each organisation will continue to perform its functions within its legally defined jurisdiction.
The initiative will also focus on establishing an effective mechanism for referring complaints to the concerned authorities and ensuring secure information sharing among participating institutions.
