ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP):The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad is continuing free hepatitis C screening for members of parliament and staff at the National Assembly Secretariat under the Prime Minister’s National Programme for the Elimination of Hepatitis C.
According to official sources, the initiative is being carried out in line with the directions of Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal to strengthen efforts for the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis C.
DHO Islamabad teams are providing screening facilities at the National Assembly to help identify infections at an early stage and facilitate timely treatment, they added.
Sources said under the national programme, free hepatitis C screening, treatment and medicines are also being provided to residents across Islamabad.
They said that the initiative is part of broader efforts to eliminate hepatitis C through accessible screening, timely medical intervention and greater public awareness.
