HYDERABAD, Oct 28 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Abdul Haleem Jagirani chaired an important meeting of the District Coordination Committee (DCC) on Wednesday to review the implementation of decisions taken by the central and provincial apex committees, the law and order situation, measures to curb drug-related activities and other administrative matters.
According to an official handout, SSP Tharparkar Arif Aziz, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Hashim Masood, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Umair Ashraf and officers from relevant departments attended the meeting.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Haleem Jagirani directed the concerned departments to ensure foolproof security for Chinese engineers and other foreign experts working in the district on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and non-CPEC projects.
He also ordered the early completion of the registration process for all religious seminaries (madaris) operating in the district and their enrolled students, stressing strict compliance with government directives and decisions.
The meeting directed authorities to immediately seal petrol pumps found selling illegal or substandard fuel, or dispensing quantities below the prescribed limits. Officials were also instructed to take strict action against unregistered warehouses and submit detailed reports.
The deputy commissioner further ordered regular monitoring of brick kilns across the district and directed officials to identify foreign nationals and unregistered workers employed there, taking legal action wherever necessary.
The secretary of the Regional Transport Authority was instructed to conduct daily operations against vehicles violating traffic rules, carrying excess loads or charging passengers fares above the officially prescribed rates, and to submit regular reports.
Officials from the Excise, Taxation and Customs departments were directed to adopt a coordinated strategy to curb the movement and use of non-custom-paid vehicles, illegal cigarettes, drugs and other intoxicating substances.
Jagirani also called for the immediate removal of illegal encroachments in front of schools, shrines and other public places. He ordered strict legal action against electricity theft, begging-related activities and those forcing children into labour.
During the meeting, SSP Tharparkar Arif Aziz briefed participants about the overall law and order situation in the district. He also outlined actions taken against criminal elements, drug dealers and individuals involved in other unlawful activities.
